"Permanent record" capacity for each student.
For example, if they take an exam that is required by multiple classes, their grade is available to each class. If they take IRB training, it is archived. Etc.

Wow, this would be great for the College of Nursing also. If this was available we could have CPR, OSHA, fire safety and confidentiality training entered in once and all of the instructors who teach in the clinical setting would be able to see if their students are up-to-date and good to go. It would also be great to keep the immunization record in as a grade item. The students are not allowed to go to the hospitals if any of these requirements expire. It is tricky to keep track of all of these because the students all get them done at different times and therefore they fall out of date at different times. I could see it as a very helpful thing if the instructors could just look at the grade book to know if the students are up to date. Our advisement center is in charge of entering this data, but we currently have to go to another database to find the information which is kind of difficult to use. It would be great if students out of date showed up on the dashboard and if there could be a grade penalty attached. In some semesters students have 2 clinical courses and the certifications are often good for a year so completing one certification may span several semesters. If you decide to take up the "permanent record" idea please talk with the College of Nursing about it because I think we could benefit if it were designed with our needs in mind as well.
