Make all answers on a multiple-response question have equal value
A multiple-response question can be thought of as a set of yes/no questions. To get full credit, all of the yes/no questions should be answered correctly. Any incorrect answer should be wrong.
Under the current system (which is an improvement from before, thanks!) I can require all answers to be correct to get any points on the question. THis works, but there is no partial credit.
Another alternative is to give some answers positive points and some answers negative points, but that's not the way I'd like it to be. If I have five alternatives, each worth 5 points, the total question value should be 25 points. And if a student gets 3 of the 5 right, they'd get 15 points.
Under the current system, if there are 3 alternatives that should be selected and two that should not, the question is only worth 15 points. If a student selects all the alternatives, their score will be 5 points. I'd really like it to be 10 points (because two were correctly selected, and three were incorrectly selected).
