survey
Would be nice to have a survey option in the exams. If selected, there would be no "correct" answers required and individual student responses would not be visible. (only show the statistics on the answers). The instructor only sees who has completed the survey. Ideally, you could give some credit for completion alone.
It would need to be labeled as a survey rather than an exam so that students would recognize the difference.

Exams > Questions > new questions > open response > response gets credit based on word count
Exams > Questions > new questions > open response. Allow for the option to have open response questions graded automatically based on word count. Currently this question type allows for an instructor to set a word limit, but it would be more helpful if it allowed for one to set a minimum word count for students to receive full credit.

Make it easier for me to see the feedback I've programmed into exams
In "Exams," under "Questions," it would be great if the "Expanded" view showed the feedback I'm giving students with each answer. I want to review & edit what I've put in there, and I would like to see it in all one place. Currently, for me to see the feedback that I've entered, I need to "edit" each question individually. Showing all the feedback on the "extended view" would be very helpful.

Option to have quizzes (exams) give each student a different randomized set of questions from a question bank.
My understanding of the current random question selector is that it randomly selects a set of questions from the bank, but then the quiz has only that set of questions for all students. Allow professors to link a quiz to a question bank, and set it so that each student will get a randomly selected set of questions for their own quiz experience. Even better: If the student wants to retake, the professor also has option to give student new randomized set of questions.

Late option for quizzes
Include the option of allowing students to complete a quiz late. Even better, include the option of deducting points or a percentage for each day late.

Ability for students to upload files in exams
Some exams would be enhanced by the ability of students to attach files of graphs they have created or other similar things.

Create a Discussion/QA spot for each assignment/Exam
There are always a large number of questions for large assignments, projects, and exams. It would be great if instead of needing to go back and forth over email, students could post and group questions associated with a given test or assignment that professors could then answer from one spot. That QA spot would become the authority on updated information for assignments and tests and make it so that faculty would (in theory) only have to answer questions once--something that I think that would add great value for faculty and students alike.

Allow students to retake only the questions they missed
This used to be a feature, but apparently has been removed. Please add it back.

Equation editing
I need equation editing, but I typically use MathType (an enhanced version of equation editor) instead of LaTex or some other markup language. Some ability to interface with that would be nice. I'm not sure yet on how well it cuts and pastes in from Word.

Ability to right click on a misspelled word and have the correct spelling option(s) appear in the box on the right.
When creating or editing exam questions I right click on a misspelled word the only option that comes up is to "Paste". I would like the ability to right click on a misspelled word and have the correct spelling option(s) appear in the box on the right.

Change name (and vision) of "Exams"
I use "Exams" for assignments that the students submit. They aren't exams, so it is confusing for students for them to be labeled as such. It would be nice if the Exams feature was more open-ended. Yes, it could still be a place for exams. But it could also be a place for assignments (graded and not graded, please).

Allow students to modify fonts in open responses on exams
When writing an exam question I can use different fonts and modify those fonts (bold, italics, underline, etc) but students cannot do the same in their responses. It would be helpful to me if they could use those fonts in their responses.

Format Options for Exam -
Non-automatic questions in exams (homework)
In many cases, especially when exams are being used as worksheets, there are questions that don't have a predetermined right answer, even multiple choice or true/false. For example, 1. Pick an example... 2. Which category is this example? A B C D. It would be nice if the exam builder did not force us to pick a correct answer and assign points to it.

Show confirmation dialog before exam submission
When you reach the last question on an exam, the "Finish and Submit" button looks a lot like the "Continue" button, and is in the same location. If you're going quickly, it's easy to click "Finish and Submit" thinking you are just going to the next question. This is a problem if you wanted to go back and review previous questions. A confirmation dialog would allow you to go back if you clicked "Finish and Submit" by mistake.

Add fast grading buttons to the exam grading interface.
Maybe a quick 'full credit' button that you can press instead of scrolling, stopping, typing points, and saving for each question. Half credit and no credit might be nice too.

Allow tab to move to Save button on exam scoring
It would be nice to be able enter a score, tab to the comments field, tab to the save button, and hit enter to save the score and comments. Then I could tab to the next question....
Right now I have to enter a score, tab to the comments field, move off the keyboard to a mouse, move the cursor to the right place, and press a button. This adds significantly to the time it takes me to grade the exam.

Limit how frequently students can retake an exam/quiz
I want to require students to get 100% on a quiz, but want them to have to wait at least 24 hours between attempts (drawing from a question pool, so the quiz is not the same every time). That way, they have to actually study for it, instead of using the exam as form of cramming.

Entering exact times for tests causes confusion.
When I create an exam, I have to post a time for it (especially since the times will appear in "Schedule"). This requires that I find out when the Testing Center administers the exams. This presents problems: does the test end when the Testing Center closes, or when they quit handing out exams? Do I have to keep track of the Testing Center hours, in case they change sometime during the term?
