  1. expand the answer boxes for fill in the blank questions

In LS exams, allow the fill in the blank answer boxes to be larger (like for open response)

  2. Multiple Choice and Multiple Response Exam Questions Should be Graphically Distinct

Currently, Multiple Choice and Multiple Response questions types appear to be virtually identical. This OFTEN causes a problem where I think I've created a multiple response question, but I've mistakenly made a multiple choice question. To make matters worse, once the question has been created, I can't change the type.

The best solution would be to make these types graphically distinct. For example, Multiple Choice questions should have circles for the A, B, C, choices, whereas the Multiple Response questions should have squares - as is the typical graphical conventions for radio buttons vs. check box. This would also make…

  3. Exams

When you are creating an exam and you are given the option to "scale the exam score to ___ points", I think that when you enter points in the blank, that should automatically select that option.

As it is, even if you enter points in the blank, unless you manually select that option, the default option ("autocalculate from question values") remains selected.

  4. Print Exams to Editable Format

Learning Suite has introduced the question bank feature which is really useful for learning suite exams. It would be amazing to be able to use this feature to create exams that could then be printed and taken in class or in the testing center. Currently you can "print an exam", but it's not easy to edit information on the exam pages that may be needed for a testing center exam.

  5. Add Search feature to Question Bank

Please add a keyword search function to the main page of the Question Bank that will search in all folders and subfolders within the Question Bank, and display all of the results showing on a single page (even if the results are in different folders). Something akin to doing a keyword search in Windows using File Explorer.

  6. Embed a librarian feature

The library is looking for a rather unique option. We partner with the writing program and would like to be able to create a customizable tab with several simple homework assignments that the students could complete through learning suite. We need these assignments to be secure so the teacher could grade them, but also we would like to collect the data from such assignments for our own library instruction program assessment. That means there would be a few parties that would need to be able to access the information: the writing 150 teacher, the library instructor assigned to that section,…

  8. Add the ability to hide open dates of exams

I have 17 reading quizzes. While they do have due dates, I don't care when the students start them, so I open them all on the first day of class.

On the schedule and dashboard, this bloats the first day of class with a long list of opening exams.

I would like to have the option of hiding opening dates, if desired.

  9. Let's call the Exams page Quizzes. Either let us rename the tab to what we want, or call the page Quizzes.

I would love the main tab for Exams to be called Quizzes, not Exams. In reality, exams are typically given at the testing center and quizzes are done online through learning suite in the 'exams' section. Maybe some instructors use the quiz mechanism to give an exam, but I don't know any that do - and most of us just use it for quizzes. Is there any possibility you would consider changing the default name of the tab/page to be Quizzes? Alternatively, could be given control of the tab name to rename it Quizzes ourselves (in which case the default…

  10. Allow students to access to view all quizzes (exams) after the closing date.

Currently students can only go back and view the exams they took. If they missed an exam they can't see it after the close date.

  12. Expand the question text to full screen and have scroll bars for when it doesn't fit

When I added an embedded image to a Learning Suite question, the small question box wouldn't scroll to enable me to edit it very well. I had to switch to HTML mode to add text to the end. It would be nice if I could expand the question text to full screen and had scroll bars for when it didn't fit. I have attached an image of the question when I was trying to edit and what it looked like after I added the rest of the text in HTML mode.

  13. Put in a disclaimer when previewing exams in student view that the students cannot see the exam until the open date

Garrett said "I thought I was viewing the site as a student would. It would be helpful to include this information in the page help or have a disclaimer in the "Student View" that states that the exam list page is an exam preview mode and that the previews are not available for student viewing."

He would like some sort of disclaimer when viewing exams in student view that let people know that students won't actually be able to view and take the exam before the exam start date. Since in student view the professor\TA is able to view the…

  14. Set a date for when students can no longer see answers to exams

set a close date on when exam answers are visible. So what he wants is to have a quiz available for a week. After the students take the quiz he wants them to see their answers and the right answers, but only for one week after the quiz. He doesn't want the questions available all semester since he uses quiz questions for his exam pools. He wants to avoid students cramming and his questions leaking between semesters.

  16. Have an answer section under "Add/Modify Short Answer question" so that you can see possible answer when grading

Mike called in to discuss the transfer of one of his courses from Blackboard to Learning Suite. The course is EC EN 320 Digital System Design. The feature in Blackboard that Mike would like to see in Learning Suite is the "Answer" section under "Add/Modify Short Answer Question." Because that feature is not found yet in Learning Suite, all of Mike's test answers are buried somewhere in.dat files and are not in any area that is easily accessible to his TA to use when grading the short answer portion of the online exams.

Essentially, Mike would like Learning Suite to…

  17. Exam import from another system

It would be nice to be able to upload a word document, or something like that, rather than having to compose quizzes/exams online.
