Assignable late penalty
I would rather allow a student to submit late, with a small point penalty as a disincentive, than to bar them from submitting it. The system would automatically assess a point penalty when an assignment is late. You would need four boxes:
1. penalty amount
2. score unit (% or points)
3. time amount
4. time unit31 votesThank you for your request. It has been ticketed. Enhancement Request #7581-Penalty for Late Submissions

Make it simpler to see what needs to be graded.
Put all items to be graded on the instructor and TA dashboard for ease of knowing what remains.

Send email notification when a grade is entered
I have students who are constantly looking at the grades section for when i have graded an assignment or a test. I think it would be nice to have a messaging setting where students can receive an email when a grade is entered into learning suite. There should also be an option where the professor can disable this if they feel the need to.

Negative Grading Calculations
We need to be able to use negative scores in learning suite to accurately evaluate the progress and understanding of our students.

Create a view of a student's performance over time
Allow an instructor (and even the student) to view a plot of any particular student's overall grade as a function of time. This would enable us to see if a student performed better in the class at the beginning of the semester, at the end, or fairly constant throughout. Allow it to be compared with a trend line for the highest and the average grade in the class. In addition to providing insight to individual student circumstances, it would also help show if the course is well paced or if some portions of the course might be taught too quickly…

Jump to student name
In the BYU grades section, homework score entry could better be streamlined by allowing instructors to type in part of a student's name, and then jump to the first student whose name matches. For example: say I'm currently at the Z section of last names and I want to enter a score for a student whose name is Adams, I just type in an A and the table automatically jumps to the A's, I click the correct student and box, saving me 15 minutes of repeatedly scrolling for 100+ students.

Create assignments from a spreadsheet or csv
In the courses I work with (as a graduate student instructor) I often need to create assignments for every day of the semester, but with different titles, point values, and descriptions. However, there is a pattern to the items that I can easily produce in a program like excel (for instance the description contains a hyperlink that is based on the assignment title).
I would like to be able to upload a spreadsheet with my assignments and have learning suite create assignments based on the information. Specifically, I would like the ability to enter an assignment title, due date, description…9 votesThis enhancement request has been ticketed. Thank you for your patience. Enhancement Request #7850

Please allow me to "turn off" the feature that shows students what grade they are getting in the class.
Please allow me to "turn off" the feature that shows students what grade they are getting in the class. Two reasons. 1. Learning Suite does not calculate my course grades the way I want it to (my system is pretty complex), so the reported grade is always wrong. But I like to use L.S. so that students can see that I've correctly entered their scores. 2. There are too many students who panic because L.S. will tell them they are failing when only a few assignments have been entered (half of their grade comes in the final, so it's not…

Allow comments on rubric
I appreciate the addition of a rubric. Canvas has a nice feature on its rubric where instructors may add comments to each student's individual rubric. The criteria option on the current LS rubric is helpful, but I would prefer to be able to add personal comments.

Remove the "compare yourself to other students in class" function.
I recently learned, to my horror, that LS has a default setting to let students see their score in comparison to other students (as opposed to tracking their own performance). That's bad enough (a comparison culture is unhealthy), but then LS also tells them things like "you're the best in class" or "you're the worst in class - better luck next time." I cannot say how badly this has gone for students (once they let me know it was happening!). I can turn it off, but I have to remember to do that each semester. Please, either remove it, or…

Order of assignments in Gradebook columns needs to be the same as assignment order
Currently the grade book will list everything by due dates first (so different weighted categories appearing inside one another like exam #1 falling in a column between homework assignments). I know that we can select to just view homework or exams, but I would prefer when I go onto gradebook to see everything sorted by subject. So if homework is first on my assignment page, I want to see that appear first, then all the quizzes together, then all the exams together, etc. regardless of due date. Also when three homework assignments are due on the same day, where I…

I really wish that I could LOCK the Overall score column so I can always see it while I am scrolling through all the columns.
As I am "massaging" a students various assignment scores, if I could lock the Overall Score column in place, I could watch how any changes affect the overall score.

Use of default decimals of 2 in grades
Grades currently defaults to zero decimal places, meaning you can't type in a score with a half point. Most don't know the default can be adjusted (some use scores of 100 to not need half points). It becomes problematic when you delete a quiz question after a quiz has ended and re-score. If a student received a 6/9 and it's scaled to a 10, they'll receive a grade of 6 (LearningSuite rounds ALL decimals down!). They should receive a 6.67.

Submit grades later option
In the previous gradebook there was an option to "continue later" while grading...this allowed my TA to begin grading but not submit the score. A flag icon appeared and I could follow behind the TA to review the grade and submit it.
The new BYU grades does not have this feature and I don't like the idea of hiding grades from the students while we are grading. Can this previous feature PLEASE be added to BYU grades (in the meantime I am grading from Agilix then syncing grades to BYU grades... it defeats some of the nice viewing features of…

Don't collapse titles of assignments in column headings
In the "Scores" screen, the column headings (which correspond to individual assignments) are collapsed so that only the first 8 characters show, making it extremely difficult to know which assignment corresponds to which column. If the assignment titles must be collapsed, I'd suggesting making the entire title visible when the user clicks on the little arrow in the column heading. This has been a major frustration.

Adjust columns on Gradebook
The columns should be adjustable in Gradebook. If there are too many, than it only shows the first part of the name, which is problematic when they start with similar names.
