What suggestions do you have to improve Learning Suite?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Option to hide due date for assignments

The due dates for our assignments vary based on individual section. To allow flexibility, all assignments are currently due last day of class. I would prefer being able to hide this information to avoid confusion.

        • LS messes up all the font sizes on my syllabus.

Although I explicitly specified 12 point font in every section of my syllabus. LS has changed those in the printed versions. In the version exported to Word the fonts vary from 9 pt to 12 pt. In the printed version they look like they are also varying from 9 to 12 pt.

Also, the word version is all saved as "normal" text style. If you made the headers be header1 style and so forth, it would be a lot easier for me to fix the font mess by hand.

          • Push textbook data from the Learning Suite to the Bookstore

When building my syllabus, the textbook and packet functionality should be built in. Rather than pulling textbook data from the bookstore, the textbook data should be pushed to the bookstore from Learning Suite. This will let me specify a reading in the schedule and that would automatically place it in an order that goes to the packet center.

            • Designate default library based on the location of the class.

The library hours in Syllabus Builder defaulted to the the Lee Library for courses that were taught at the SLC. This may in fact also be a problem for the Hunter Law Library and the library of the London Center. They wondered whether it would be useful for a class to identify a default library based on where the class is taught and then present those hours in the syllabus.

                  • Ability to adjust vertical spacing in text.

Ability to adjust vertical spacing in text. For example, tables that are copied into the syllabus have a double spaced vertical height per row making them twice as tall as they need to be.

                    • Change syllabus default to view instead of edit after it has been created.

The default for the instructor is as if each time he/she goes onto Syllabus.byu.edu that our goal is to set up a new syllabus. Why can't the default view be adjusted to going directly to a specific point of entry (as is possible with Blackboard, Instructure/Canvas, etc.)?
