  1. Make the My Courses ribbon also show the course names

As I get nearer to the end of my BYU experience, I have more and more courses that all come from the same department, which can get confusing. It would be nice if the My Courses ribbon listed the course names (or let me add something), so I can keep things organized in my head!

  2. BRING BACK FULL MONTH VIEW OF COMBINED SCHEDULE ASAP PLEASE

I turned on Learning Suite today to look at my Combined Schedule, and noticed it had changed, and no longer supported a full month view of the schedule, it only allowed for a 5-day view or 7-day view. I always use the Combined Schedule to plan out my future weeks, and I hate having to click through weeks to figure out what's going on, I just want a monthly overview. Please change this back ASAP.

  3. Add keyboard shortcuts

The current click-based UI slows down effectiveness. If there were more robust keyboard shortcuts to navigate and interact with Learning Suite my college experience would be entirely revolutionized.

  5. Make the Message System pop up without taking up the whole window.

When I click the message icon from the home screen of Learning Suite, the message window takes up the whole screen. I would prefer the message window to pop up in a modal format, or some other way that doesn't take up the whole screen and that loads more quickly.

Reason: Often, the messages aren't critical, and it feels like more of a distraction if I "navigate to another window" (which is what the experience feels like) and then realize the message wasn't important and I have to "navigate back". Perhaps the message could open up in a "chat" format…

  6. Link or view of Professor's personal class websites

I really hate it when Professor's choose to have their own website for their classes. The ideal solution would be to require all Professor's to use learning suite (It get's messy when three classes are on Learning Suite and the other two are on their own websites).

Since it is likely not possible to require this, it would be really nice to have Learning Suite accommodations.

    Option #1 (Easier)
Since the Learning Suite is often not published when a Professor has an external website, it would be very helpful to at least link to the external website when you click…

  7. Add icon to show up on Windows 8 live tile

Windows 8 and 8.1 allow you to pin websites to the Start Screen. If websites don't have icons set up appropriately, a color is somewhat randomly selected for the tile and a generic Internet Explorer icon is assigned to the website. It would be great to have the web designers take the little bit of time necessary to know how to format the icon so that it shows up correctly on the Start Screen when pinned. Mormon Channel, You Tube, Gmail, Google Calendar, Pinterest are all great examples of websites that are doing it correctly so that the tile is…

  8. Scroll Left and right

Sometimes I can scroll left and right and on the very right it is just white space. That is annoying. I think it most often occurs with quizzes.

  9. Headers in Chronological Order

It would be great to be able to reorder the headers into chronological order instead of alphabetical order. This would also be a fantastic feature in the grid view of the combined schedule, so it was like an actual calendar of my schedule.

  10. Take away the Presidential Message on the LS landing page

As a web developer myself, I'm appreciative of the functionality LS provides--especially the combined calendar. However, the new "Presidential Message" that appears on LS home page takes away from the stark functionality of Learning Suite. Upon loading, it often grabs my attention as it's the only graphic on the page. However, I've noticed that the image and quote often get distracts and derails me from my focus on my assignments. I log into LS with the goal of looking up an assignment. But when the graphic/quote appears, my thoughts are drawn away from navigating to the specific class and I…

  11. Simple quality-of-life navigation improvement: show nav bar.

After logging on using either the mobile site or the split-screen version of the desktop site, I have to click (or tap) "all courses" then the class, then that same tab up top (that now has the name of the class) then the tab I want, then that same tab up top to finally scroll down and click or tap on a tab, and if i accidentally click the wrong one then I have to do it one more time. It's not a huge deal, but with my understanding of programming it's probably an easy fix that would save maybe…

  12. TA view defaulted to student view

I am a TA and the most frustrating thing that I have had to deal with on learningsuite is the fact that it is defaulted to instructor view on both my phone and computers. I would like for there to be an option of which view to have as the default or at least have the student view as default because as TAs, we have classes too. I haven't been able to easily access the combined schedule feature that I love and on the phone you have to awkwardly scroll off to the side to even select student view.

  13. Individual customization of navigation bar

I wish there was more freedom to customize the navigation bar at the top of the LearningSuite home page. Some ideas include:

    - Allowing individuals to rename courses. When you take a lot of courses in the same department, you constantly have to sort through a list of nearly identical course names (such as HIST 200, HIST 201, HIST 220, etc.) to get to the page for the correct course. Allowing students to rename these pages more intuitively (such as "World Civ", "Hist Craft", etc.) would reduce confusion and promote efficiency among students.

    - Allowing students to color-code the tabs…

  14. Eliminate whitespace at the top of the browser

I have noticed across multiple devices that there is a line of whitespace at the top of the page. I attached an image of this occurring in Safari. I think Learning Suite would look better without the whitespace.

  15. A thought to make the Course List / Schedule / Announcements Flow a tiny bit less confusing...

    - The Course List has data for Past / Current / Future courses while
    - (as far as I can tell), Schedule and Announcements both only contain information for Current courses. That gets confusing when you click on "future" to get information about upcoming courses for the new semester (as it's not the current semester) and then when you hit Schedule or Announcements you get blanks (as I believe they only show info for Current courses--but that's not clear).

On the Announcements / Schedule, explicity state in the center of the blank screen, "You have no current courses." If you…

  16. Move the error notification from directly on top of the course names

A lot of times I'll click on a tab and an error message will pop up, so I'll click out of the message, then try the tab again and it opens. The error notification is right on top of the course names, and it's annoying to have to click the x, then try again.
