How can we improve BYU LEARNING SUITE?

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

  1. Make the My Courses ribbon also show the course names

As I get nearer to the end of my BYU experience, I have more and more courses that all come from the same department, which can get confusing. It would be nice if the My Courses ribbon listed the course names (or let me add something), so I can keep things organized in my head!

  2. Add keyboard shortcuts

The current click-based UI slows down effectiveness. If there were more robust keyboard shortcuts to navigate and interact with Learning Suite my college experience would be entirely revolutionized.

  4. Link or view of Professor's personal class websites

I really hate it when Professor's choose to have their own website for their classes. The ideal solution would be to require all Professor's to use learning suite (It get's messy when three classes are on Learning Suite and the other two are on their own websites).

Since it is likely not possible to require this, it would be really nice to have Learning Suite accommodations.

    Option #1 (Easier)
Since the Learning Suite is often not published when a Professor has an external website, it would be very helpful to at least link to the external website when you click…

  5. Headers in Chronological Order

It would be great to be able to reorder the headers into chronological order instead of alphabetical order. This would also be a fantastic feature in the grid view of the combined schedule, so it was like an actual calendar of my schedule.

  6. Take away the Presidential Message on the LS landing page

As a web developer myself, I'm appreciative of the functionality LS provides--especially the combined calendar. However, the new "Presidential Message" that appears on LS home page takes away from the stark functionality of Learning Suite. Upon loading, it often grabs my attention as it's the only graphic on the page. However, I've noticed that the image and quote often get distracts and derails me from my focus on my assignments. I log into LS with the goal of looking up an assignment. But when the graphic/quote appears, my thoughts are drawn away from navigating to the specific class and I…
